Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

3D printing offers opportunities for students to dream, discover, design and print prototypes that could literally change the world. And, it's just really awesome! Justin's 3D printing hobby sparked a passion within Melissa to bring this tool to the classroom. This past year, Melissa created a curriculum for an 8 week "Introduction to 3D printing" class for 4th and 5th grade High Ability students. Together, Melissa and Justin have studied, tinkered, experimented, made a lot of mistakes and have learned quite a bit about 3D printing. This is an opportunity for them to share what they have learned as you consider 3D printing in your educational environment.
During this 90 minute session you will:
*Learn the basics of 3D printing
*See multiple 3D printers in action
*Experience the process of 3D design
*Obtain resources on suggestions for 3D printers, filament suppliers, slicers and design software.
*Discuss strategies/obtain curriculum resources for classroom integration of 3D printers
*Bring home a fun 3-D printed object (Yes, extrinsic motivation going on here.)

Whether you are a 3D-printing-tech-savy teacher or a Googler-with-a-heart-for-kids-and-a-curiousity about 3D printing; this session is for you!
